Tokyo Midtown annually celebrates Kodomo no Hi (Children’s Day) and Golden Week, a series of four holidays spaced closely together. In Japan, it is a time to celebrate children’s happiness and success, as well as a chance for relaxation and quality family time. The gallery displays original koinobori (carp streamers) designs created by artists from around the world. After being showcased in Tokyo Midtown from April 25 until May 11th 2025 the koinobori will be shipped to Hawaiʻi and be displayed at the Capitol Modern.

"Remembering When” is inspired by my childhood beach days with my sister and father on Oahu, capturing scenes from his perspective. The beach comes alive with seashells and hidden sea creatures. Both illustrations are inspired by the pictures below that my father took of my sister and me on our yellow boogie board, which we still own today.
