Composed of three central panels and two alternates, the abstract digital illustrations explore the visceral impact of taste through color, form, and emotion. Sourness is depicted through oranges in one panel and limes in its alternate, using circular motifs
and spiked elements within warm orange and electric green palettes to mirror the initial burst and sharp jolt of sour flavor. Sweetness is conveyed through honey, with fluid, amber-toned forms that suggest warmth and comfort. A central character
anchors the panel narrative, their expressive reaction capturing how each flavor can alter feeling and shape emotional atmosphere. (My artwork statement!)

The goal of this project was to play with abstraction and how to use shapes and colors to express emotions. I took inspiration from the movie "Ratatouille", a childhood favorite, specifically the scene when Remi bites into a strawberry and bit of cheese.

The left image showcases sketches of the "sour"/"citrus" stimuli. To the right are the initial character sketches for the main panel.

The left image shows the initial sketches for honey. I was trying to hone in on the sticky and fluid motion of honey drips.
